Hiatus over!

Blog hiatus over

The Aspect Aerial Imagery blog is now back up and running after some issues with servers. We will be updating this blog now on the last Monday of the month.

Uk weather!
After what seems like weeks of heavy rain and high winds this morning we were greeted with heavy snow. Suffice to say this mornings drone mapping mission of a local conservation site isn’t going to happen.

Some great photographic opportunities recently have been missed either because of the wind or the rain, but with spring now around the corner things can only get better!

Short case study on drones in Agriculture
Our short case study of drones in agriculture was re-published last week. As you will see the case for the use of drones in the agricultural sector is overwhelming. In this day and age of rising demand on farmers from both food producers and environmental groups, the use of drones can help satisfy all concerned.

Drone news
The worlds first manned aerobatic drone was unveiled recently in Croatia. The “ Big Drone” built by Drone Champions AC features 12 rotors and a carbon fibre frame. Built to carry a passenger while controlled from the ground, this “Big Drone” has been built to promote the Drone Champions League video game by Drone Champions AG.

Drones as the new mobile phone tower? American startup Telelift has developed a drone the size of a dining table. It can be attached to the ground by a long wire or installed with solar panels and, according to their designers, can stay in the air for at least a month. With the intention of providing internet where ever needed, making the World Wide Web truly world wide, remote community’s anywhere on earth can be connected.

That’s it for the February 2020 update. Check back in March for hopefully some springlike aerial photos!
